THANK YOU
for visiting Musikvert. We appreciate you either taking your first steps into the vast and diverse world of classical music, contributing your feelings on the subject, or reading to increase your understanding.
What is Musikvert?
In simple terms, it's a combination of musik (the german word for music) and invert. With Musikvert, we hope to invert people's thoughts on classical music, to show individuals that there's so much more to this art form. It isn't for one specific audience. This music is for everyone, and it's waiting for you to listen to it.
How Musikvert began?
We (the creator of Musikvert) were sitting in a concert hall hearing the Chicago Symphony Orchestra performing in our hometown's performing art center. We scanned the crowd in the theater and noticed one similar characteristic. Everyone in the audience, about 85%, were aging, many in their 70s, 80s, or even 90s. I was one of a handful of 20-year-olds hearing this fantastic performance. We always knew classical music had difficulty attracting a younger audience, but this was one of the first times it hit us.
Passionate about classical music, We thought it was our responsibility to be part of the solution to help solve a problem that continues to grow each day in the classical music world.
Thus, Musikvert began. The performance with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra led me to create a blog to share my thoughts, feelings, and perspective on classical music. We believed we have a responsibility to share what we've learned from our team's personal/professional experience.
We don't claim to be an expert. We still have a lot to learn ourselves, but we hope to build a community where individuals can discuss classical music, helping it continue for many years to come.
Mission
To invert the younger generation's thoughts on classical music through educational and entertaining content, acquainting them with a fascinating auditory world.
Vision
Musikvert will be part of the great solution for classical music in the current age. It will help build an audience of individuals who appreciate it and actively engage with it. Musikvert will educate a new generation of fans while finding solutions to potential barriers at concert halls.
